I would like to install FC5 on Intel SE7230nh1-e with Intel Embeded RAID ICH7R, the FC5 doesn't detect my raid setup on bios. They only see 4 SATA harddrives, instead of 2 harddrives raid 1.

Presume you've created the array in the BIOS? Have you tried setting the hard drives to AHCI mode?

The "fake-raid" support did improve throughout the FC5 t1/t2/t3 series to the point that I could install on it (intel D945GTP with ICH7R) with FC5 release version, but the first kernel update then seemed to break it, presumably it's fixed again in recent kernels?

It's not really the kernel update that broke it...it's kernel 2.6.16 in general that isn't working well with dmraid. From what I can tell, they're working on it.
