Oddly enough, updating to the latest beta version BIOS of my
motherboard [K8N4-E Deluxe v.1011.3] fixed this problem. I suspected
a bios problem after I tried to upgrade to FC5 and encountered the
same exact issues. Updated the BIOS and no problems what-so-ever.
This was when I upgraded to FC5 doing a clean install, so I can't
verify that this would work for FC4, but I'm thinking it should if
there is a BIOS update for you motherboard.
Hope this helps.

Hello,
Did you solve this problem? I have a similar problem and solved it
with the kernel parameter "pci=nommconf".

Looks like it has something to do with the secondary onboard IDE

My system is a AMD Athlon 64 3000+ CPU installed in a Asus K8N4-E
Deluxe motherboard with an Asus GeForce 6200 PCIe video card. I also
have an Intel Pro 100 PCI network card installed. Has anyone else
run into this issue?
Can you remove the 'quiet' from the boot command line, and see
what the last few lines it mentions are ?
