What exactly are you using to boot the system?
I abstracted boot.iso from the images directory on the first CD,
and burned this to a CD;
after booting from this, and responding "linux askmethod" to the prompt
I was able to access the ISOs on my hard disk.
Nb You have to give the directory name without any prefix,
eg FedoraDVD not /dev/hdb1/FedoraDVD .
