https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1044541 Bug ID: 1044541 Summary: Consider making SELinux a REQUIREMENT, not recommendation. Product: Fedora Documentation Version: devel Component: release-notes Assignee: relnotes@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Reporter: mikelieman@xxxxxxxxx QA Contact: docs-qa@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx CC: relnotes@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, wb8rcr@xxxxxxxx, zach@xxxxxxxxxx Description of problem: While trying to upgrade, I ran into an apparent conflict between fedup and SELinux, which is disabled on this particular instance. Without finding it as a requirement, I reached out to the IRC channel #Fedora for assistance. Their response to my apparently supported use-case was vigorous, and let's just leave it at 'off-putting'. The take-away is that SELinux IS A DE-FACTO REQUIREMENT going forward, and the documentation should to corrected to reflect this REQUIREMENT. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): F20 How reproducible: Unknown Steps to Reproduce: 1. Disable SELinux 2. Reach out to #Fedora on IRC for support Actual results: Offensive, Insulting Derision Expected results: Confirmation that yes, it is a de-facto requirement, and yes, the documentation should be updated to reflect it.
