John, the bug in 1.6 hits the body text itself; the bug in 1.6.1 only munges up the "Common Content" in the preface but renders body text correctly and therefore would allow translators to proofread their work. Could you please upgrade Publican to 1.6.1 on the machine that you're using to build these draft docs?
