FC7Blocker pruning - help avoid slipping the release!

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

The final freeze for F7 is coming Thursday. After that, we will *only*
accept new packages that fix bugs that are on the FC7Blocker list.

Unfortunately, there's a lot of stuff on there that, frankly, isn't
really something we should slip the release for. And we might be missing
some critical bugs that should be on there. So I need your help to sort
it out.

Here's the blocker list:
http://rdr.to/YH

And here's the release criteria:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/QA/ReleaseCriteria

In short - bugs that:
a) keep applications or services from starting up,
b) cause kernel panics or oopses,
c) prevent installation,
d) corrupt data, or
e) break major, important features[1]

should be considered blockers. Everything else should be moved to
FC7Target.

So if there's anything on the blocker list you find questionable, feel
free to add a comment to the bug and/or ask here for guidance.

Beat owners, if there's anything in your beat that's obviously not a
blocker (e.g. bugs in non-default apps, things that can be worked around
and can be easily fixed with an update post-F7 release) you can feel
free to move it to FC7Target (which will be inherited by F8Target
post-release).

Remember - at this point, if we slip the release again, we miss the
install-fest Max has planned at LinuxTag. We need to get this right!

Thanks in advance for your help!
