2 or 3 months ago I asked Martin to post formal status updates about
icon development to the art list so I have source material for FWN.
The thing is that Echo has many weeks of total silence, so probably you
can't count on it for a regular item. Things heated up a bit now as we
think about including it as a feature for F10 but if we achieve that
*and* a good coverage of the icons, then it will get into maintenance
mode, so very silent (but we have lot of work until then).
for the FWN team to do outreach to the subprojects to let them know what
FWN can do for them in disseminating information throughout the community.

The echo-icon-theme development team just officially released its first
Echo Monthly News Issue [1]. In this release we cover these sections:

Since it's our first release it is not perfect and therefore we will
