Hi Shaun --
Welcome to the news crew! The first thing to take a look at, if you
haven't already, is the FWN portion of the wiki, with the top level
page at:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/FWN
I see that you've already added your name to the News team page
(http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/NewsProject), so you've probably seen
this already.
Did you have a specific area of interest in the Fedora Project that
you would like to cover for FWN? We recently opened up a new
virtualization beat, and we encourage interested folk to start new
beats that aren't covered in the existing Beat structure. The
currently-defined beats are at:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/FWN/Beats
If you are interested in starting a new beat, tell us what you would
like to propose on the list here, and if this seems reasonable, we'll
be happy to add it into the current roster.
Thanks so much for join Fedora News!
Best,
- pascal
I have already been to those sites. I was wondering how I would go
about writing or getting the information to write about. Example I see
that their is no writer for the meetings section if I wanted to do
that how do I go about that? This is my first time so forgive me if
I'm missing something. Thank You Shaun
Hi Shaun --
We recently discussed the Events & Meetings beat and this has been
covered in the Ambassadors beat that Jeffrey has been writing, so we are
covered there.
One suggestion might be to look at all of the various SIG discussion
lists about Fedora[1] as we have not covered developments in these to
any real extent yet. Is there anything there that is of interest to
you? We could also consider doubling up with beat writers on one or
more of the beats that have writers associated with them but have not
had activity in some time, such as Documentation, and DailyPackage.
