Are the "*-sysv" subpackages actually needed as SUB-packages? Why

"clamav-milter" etc. ?
When you show me that the daemons really require e2fsprogs, ethtool,
mingetty, mount, net-tool, udev, ... for their core functionality, then
I will add the bloaty 'initscripts' dependency.
Well,
I guess you mean you want to provide some "general" rpms, useful for
another distros, not for Fedora only.
But Fedora uses initscripts. Moreover, all Clamav potential "friends"
(postfix, sendmail, samba etc.) use initscript when packaged for Fedora.
Hence such a separating just looks strange here.
Maybe a compromise is to use some "%define" switch in .spec file? I.e..
"%define separate_sysv 0" for Fedora, and "1" for initscript-less
environment. If you agree, I could provide a correct patch for this.
By the way, whether you actually use Fedora without initscripts package?
What another daemons without init scripts are used, from what repository
its packages come? I just curious...
