Hi, I'd like to propose the following packages for exclusion from Fedora 7: java-1.4.2-gcj-compat - provided by java-1.5.0-gcj in Rawhide - these packages have BuildRequires for java-1.4.2-gcj-compat*: R-0:2.4.1-3.fc7 db4-0:4.5.20-4.fc7 erlang-0:R11B-2.3.fc7 compat-erlang-0:R10B-10.4.fc6 cairo-java-0:1.0.5-6.fc7 db4-0:4.5.20-4.fc7 openoffice.org-1:2.2.0-12.1 libgconf-java-0:2.12.4-7.fc7 bigloo-0:2.9a-1.fc7 - these packages have Requires for java-1.4.2-gcj-compat*: bouncycastle-0:1.34-2.fc7 lucene-0:1.4.3-1jpp.14 csound-java-0:5.03.0-9.fc7 openoffice.org-sdk-1:2.2.0-11.2 These build and runtime requirements should be satisfied by the new java-1.5.0-gcj packages' compatibility Provides. jessie - provided by libgcj in Rawhide - no packages have BuildRequires for jessie - no packages have Requires for jessie gnu-crypto - provided by libgcj in Rawhide - these packages have BuildRequires for gnu-crypto*: jessie-0:1.0.1-7 azureus-0:2.5.0.0-11.fc7 classpathx-mail-0:1.1.1-4jpp.2 jtidy-2:1.0-0.1.r7dev.1jpp.1.fc7 - these packages have Requires for gnu-crypto*: azureus-0:2.5.0.0-11.fc7 jessie-0:1.0.1-7 Matt Wringe is currently investigating if these requirements can be removed. I think that in all cases it will be as simple as removing the BuildRequires and Requires for gnu-crypto, since gnu-crypto has been merged into libgcj which is already a build and runtime requirement for these packages. gjdoc - provided by sinjdoc in Rawhide - these packages have BuildRequires for gjdoc: java-1.5.0-gcj-0:1.5.0.0-2.fc7 eclipse-1:3.2.2-4.fc7 java-1.4.2-gcj-compat-0:1.4.2.0-40jpp.111 - these packages have Requires for gjdoc: java-1.4.2-gcj-compat-0:1.4.2.0-40jpp.111 Can the eclipse package's build requirement be changed to sinjdoc? The java-1.5.0-gcj build requirement is temporary, pending new gcc rpms.
