IMO, the fonts.alias example is a fair use of %config that's ok in my book.
But we do want /usr to be "stateless". Although I can see that fixing
the fonts.alias issues may be non-trivial.
I agree. Ideally, /usr could be a filesystem mounted read-only. Somebody
shoulda told those X11 guys that.
OTOH, fonts.alias is way-old legacy pre-fontconfig stuff anyway. Is xfs
gone yet? (:
