Hi,

I recently adopted ltsp-utils. It looks like that package will be
made obsolete by LTSP-5 - is this correct? I infer from reading about
the 'MueKow' stuff that there will be an enitirely new package present
in F7?

Thanks,

The way LTSP-5 is organized is entirely different from the old LTSP. Previous LTSP built an entire OS for the thin clients within the chroot. LTSP-5 instead uses the base OS' packages to form that chroot.

Eric Harrison did some work Fedora-izing LTSP-5. We should see what progress he made on this and figure out what other pieces need doing. Eric, could you fill us in on the status?

We need to get all the supporting pieces of LTSP into Fedora, and figure out exactly how the thin clients should be configured (initrd, X and other stuff) that is either Fedora compatible, or using LTSP-scripts bypassing it entirely.

Here is one key problem needing solving for Fedora to natively handle one aspect of LTSP-5. There are many other pieces that need to be isolated, filed and worked on.
