No, you're not alone. 

Though I hope to have been able to follow (at least most of it), I am
also quite confused when it comes to details, e.g.:

* How is this "flags thing" supposed to work/to be used?
Why was this necessary at all? Though I believe to have understood the
idea, ATM, I find it more confusing than helpful.

* Some people mentioned some "overview wiki" - where is it?

* Will Core packages physically be moved into Extras CVS after they
passed review? If yes, when will this happen?

* I am observing RH/Core people more or less _silently_ abandoning/
orphaning packages as part of the Core/Extras review. 
Though it's natural to see packages being abandoned/adopted during
release preps. I'd really prefer @redhat.com's doing this openly in
public with a loud and clear "abandoning mail"

* How are Extra->Core mergers, respective RH adoptions of current Extra
packages supposed to be handled?
