xdm can move to Extras or stay in Core, doesn't matter much to me,

FYI, xdm's structure and config files (/etc/X11/xdm/*) are used by kdebase/kdm, so these two are tied together.

Which, if you read the rest of my post you'd have seen that
I already indicated.
