xsri is currently in need of an upstream maintainer who might be interested in improving the program, and adding features and other enhancements to it. xsri is not used in the default Red Hat desktops anymore, and anything in the OS that can use it, does so conditionally by checking to see if it is installed first. Due to it not being used by default anywhere, adding new features to it is very low on the Red Hat priority list. As such, I think xsri is a good candidate for Fedora Extras if there's a volunteer out there who is partial to it, and willing to take ownership of it, and/or assume the role of upstream maintainer. We should consider deprecating it from Fedora Core IMHO. Feedback and/or volunteers appreciated. -- Mike A. Harris, Systems Engineer - X11 Development team, Red Hat Canada, Ltd.
