BTW, since your article is about MB vs MiB and hard drives, it might be worth- while to point the following article out to the readers: https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/community/blogs/ibmnas/entry/misalignment_can_be_twice_the_cost1?lang=en According to that article, it is important to use MiB and align partitions on a proper power-of-two disk address (>= 4096 bytes; personally, I align to the nearest 1MiB) or else your drive's write performance will reduced by a factor of 2.
