One note... Normally, we don't use "I" or "we" in the Magazine. The authors or editors don't typically call attention to themselves. We'll edit articles to get rid of that first-person voice wherever needed (but we will leave second person "you" and third person "he/she/they"). However, the story at the beginning of the article was pretty compelling, and since it was personal I decided to just leave as-is.
