Hello, I just ran into the "Discuss everything Fedora" post on the planet: https://fedoramagazine.org/discuss-everything-fedora/ I'm afraid it somewhat misrepresents the function of discussion.fp.o and needs major tweaks to clarify it. "Are you new to using Fedora, or have a question about using Fedora?" implies that it is also the right place to ask questions related to troubleshooting, but that is not the case. discussion.fp.o is for community discussion only and AskFedora is the right place where users ask questions regarding the usage/installation/upgrading/etc of Fedora. So, discussion.fp.o does not overlap with AskFedora. The post will only confuse users. (The categories on discussion.fp.o again, are not for user-end troubleshooting. They are more for development discussion of these topics.) We are migrating AskFedora from Askbot to Discourse too (invite only set up at askbeta.fedoraproject.org, tickets here: https://pagure.io/fedora-join/Fedora-Join/issues?tags=C%3A+AskFedora). (If you'd like to checkout askbeta.fp.o, please e-mail me offlist and I will send you an invite). After discussing it with mattdm and the current AskFedora staff., we agreed to have a separate instance for user-end troubleshooting to ensure that it did not hamper community discussion at discussion.fp.o Please update the post accordingly. I personally think that the post is better suited to the commblog given that discussion.fp.o is for community discussion. When we're ready to open the new AskFedora to the public (hopefully in a fortnight), we will have an announcement post on the Magazine. Sorry about this---I should've caught it earlier :(. -- Thanks, Regards, Ankur Sinha "FranciscoD" https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/User:Ankursinha Time zone: Europe/London
