I have just conducted a few more tests. Strangely enough, the process WILL
work with Fedora 25 Wayland out-of-the-box, but it breaks after running
system update. For some reason, transparency no longer works, so what you
end up with is an embedded black box.

I suppose the article should be cancelled for release, unless I can make
the steps work with another terminal emulator (I have had success with
using rxvt in the past, maybe it would not be subject to the shortcomings??)
