Apt support will not be removed for RHL7.3. However in later Fedora releases, yum performance is quite a lot better. If apt starts using the common repodata, then apt support will reappear for those releases too. As for new versions, that isn't something we'll do in the RHL space. Within Fedora there is an upstream (Fedora Project) tendency to use new releases, so we may follow suite when low impact.
