I'm not sure if SSH existed in 1994 (I certainly learned about it a few years later). OpenSSH as the first major branch is certainly not that old. I think is is more likely that you have disallowed X forwarding on the SSH server(s). I certainly can connect with both ssh -X and ssh -Y from a debian box to a FC2 box (even though FC2 openssh is too old to recognize -Y) and connect with ssh -X from FC2 to debian. > What would be the recommended fix for this?
