If they're severe enough that the update shouldn't be applied, they're
probably severe enough to prevent the update from being released in the
first place.

I think that's also something that should be irrelevant here, since all of
the updates for FL will be security fixes.

Ditto, really. (And if it's something that you might not need to update
because it's not important to you, it probably won't hurt if it's
auto-updated.)

Again, shouldn't happen.

Could happen -- but notification could happen after the update is applied.
