Hi Bruce. You'd probably be better off on the Redhat Fedora forum or mailing list as Fedora Legacy is dealing with FC1 and earlier. All the same, personally I don't think you're going to have much success with this one. I've put a RH9 app on FC1 and its worked. A RH8 one on FC2! Well you dont want to know about that. I think the problem is going to be that the FC3 kernel has been presented to the app developers, and they've taken advantage of it's advanced capabilities, therefore in your case you've got mysql offered to you with advanced capabilities. Putting the dependencies to one side, whether the FC3 version of mysql is going to play with the FC2 kernel is a bit hit and miss. Bringing the dependencies into the scenario you could find yourself in some sort of dependency chain reaction, with more and more dependencies needing to be satisfied. If you desperately need the added funtionality of mysql as provided with FC3, your best bet in my honest opinion is to upgrade the OS to FC3. I know there are some issues with FC3 with music software apps, as I participate in the planetccrma list. But probably most of the run of the mill stuff works perfectly well. Let me know which way you decide to go. Nigel. On Tuesday 29 Mar 2005 7:23 pm, bruce wrote: > hi... > > i'm looking to install/upgrade mysql (FC2->FC3) on a FC2 system.
