If you try this, please post the "rpm -vvv -U" output.

When I tried the rpm -U -vvv the less package worked. This was on a machine where yum had failed 3 times. *shrug* Unfortunately it appears the repository maintainers have decided to just drop the issue, and I really don't have time to track this down on my own.
