changes b/t 2.0.4 and 2.0.5 were not major - mostly functional bugs nothing architectural.

Just a thought, but does yum or rpm depend on less in any way? A race condition (attempting to run the less binary during the brief moment when the package is being replaced) might explain why such a simple package could be causing such a troublesome update for several of us.
