That is essentially what Red Hat did that caused the need for FedoraLegacy
in the first place. FedoraLegacy was supposed to fix the sudden drop of
support for RHL, not do the same thing to its users.
We could still throw in a fixed package or two to 7.2/8.0 if be bother
to (I wouldn't suggest that though), but at least the message would be
clear... :)
Yes, that FL doesn't care any more about its community than RH did.
Is that the message we want to give?
The reason for FL was so that people could plan for upgrades with a
fixed support time for their releases. If we just drop them, then
we've deceived these people (saying we'd support them for at least 1.5
years, and then not doing it).
I'm not saying we can't do this, as if there is no community support,
then it should be done. But we need to be upfront about it, and the
message we should give out is one of fact (lack of community support)
and not just one of convenience (now you see it, now you don't).
And no, I didn't miss the smilly faces in the post. But I'm sure others
will miss them, or misinterpret them, so I'm answering as if they are
not there.
