The solution:
I grabbed the patches from RedHat AS2.1.  They were very similiar in nature to what Johnny Strom put together.  I could have produced them myself, but figured it wasn't necessary.  I would just be reinventing the weel.  Johnny, you had to add a DEFINE of _U_=\"\" to fix you complication errors.  You effectively did the same thing by removing them.  Thanks for your help.

I entered an informative bug.  I compiled for 7.3 and make src rpms for 7.2 and 8.0 by changing the dist revision number.  They are basically the same.  We should QA and test at the same time.

If anyone has a problem with the approach let me know.  We can make changes if need be.  At this point I want to show the everyone we are capable of doing this.
