As long as the tarball included in the srpm is exactly the same, and the only spec difference is the version number, then what you should do is set the disttag to be 7x. You'll still have to build it specifically on 7.1, 7.2, and 7.3, it'll just have the same name. > This spec also has the epoch value of 14. What are the implications of > epoch? epoch always wins in a version comparison. Package-4.2 with epoch 14 is considered newer than Package-8.1 with epoch 13. For this reason, I do believe you should set the epoch of the newer distro up by one. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this will ensure that the package gets updated if somebody upgrades from 7.2 to 7.3. Otherwise, since they have the same name, the package wouldn't get upgraded. I don't particularly like epoch, but since it's already in use here, might as well take advantage of it. > elm: > > What ever decision that is made for tcpdump should be applied to elm as > well. A friend of mine that has signed up for the progeny service (boss's decision, not his), but he's added me to an alias that gets the notices. I'll be getting notices of all the updates that progeny makes available. I'll let the list know. - -- Jesse Keating RHCE MCSE (http://geek.j2solutions.net) Fedora Legacy Team (http://www.fedora.us/wiki/FedoraLegacy) Mondo DevTeam (www.mondorescue.org) GPG Public Key (http://geek.j2solutions.net/jkeating.j2solutions.pub) Was I helpful?
