So don't use NM, try edit /etc/resolv.conf and restart the network:
/etc/init.d/network restart

It will be overwrite everytime NM runs. I check in
$HOME/.gconf/system/networking/wireless/networks/sid/%gconf but none
mentions about IP and DNS settings.
