From: Dorinda Bassey on gitlab.com https://gitlab.com/cki-project/kernel-ark/-/merge_requests/3592#note_2298681189 I agree with Jarod, explicitly turning off RHEL disabled configs in automotive ensures we're safeguarding against unintended changes in the future, especially in cases where RHEL might change things unexpectedly. @dcaratti yes implementing test are nice to have, but i think the double- disable approach is good for cases where we want to explicitly prevent accidental config changes. > Also, I don't think the double disable would protect one of the settings in case it's determined by 'Depends' or 'Selects' keyword in Kconfig. I don’t fully agree with the concern about double-disabling not protecting settings influenced by Depends or Selects. When running `make distconfig`, the build process should already detect such dependency conflicts and return an error during the configuration phase. So, if a setting is disabled or enabled incorrectly due to these Kconfig dependencies, make distconfig will catch and flag the issue. -- _______________________________________________ kernel mailing list -- kernel@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe send an email to kernel-leave@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Fedora Code of Conduct: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/project/code-of-conduct/ List Guidelines: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Mailing_list_guidelines List Archives: https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/kernel@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Do not reply to spam, report it: https://pagure.io/fedora-infrastructure/new_issue
