It is important. From a user point of view, if the OS as supplied isn't
working as we have used in the past due to some forced mandate, then
there is a disservice to the users. In this case, forcing Wayland onto
users when it isn't ready, then it is even worse.
I will be staying with F39 until I see that Wayland is working as good
if not better than X11 with KDE. As I see on discuss.kde.org, it is
much worse as posted this week.

you lose a lot. It is no faster, no more capable, and no easier to use
than X (arguably less so), and you lose all control over your GPU and
displays."
