New Laptop Issues - screen flicker and VMWare Workstation

All;

I picked up a new laptop yesterday, a Dell XPS 17 - DELL X9720 12700H/32/1/17P

See the output of lspci below

Here are the issues I am trying to solve:

1) If i do not install the NVIDIA drivers then a second monitor does not work, if I do install the NVIDIA drivers then I get a screen flicker on the laptop screen about every minute

2) VMWare workstation does not work with kernel 5.19.13-200.fc36.x86_64, I have tried the patch found here:

https://github.com/mkubecek/vmware-host-modules

I have disabled secure boot but the vmmon module will not load. VMWare starts but if I try to start a VM I get this message:

Could not open /dev/vmmon: No such file or directory.
Please make sure that the kernel module `vmmon' is loaded.

Thanks in advance for any help
