I'm assuming you read the whole thread on ask.fedora. Including the part where they noted that what they were using to time, was inaccurate.
Average results:
systemd-analyze time | manual stopwatch | |
---|---|---|
Plymouth: disabled | 28.3s | 34.2s |
Plymouth: enabled | 51.2s | 37.0s |
I personally turn off plymouth, because I like watching the various debug stuff go by.
But plymouth has its place in making your average computer user not think their Fedora machine is primitive.
