 2 things to try:
* disable session management, systemsettings5->startup&shutdown->desktop 
session, On Login chose option *other* than "Restore previous session"
* enable logind feature to kill user processes on logout, edit 
/etc/systemd/logind.conf , set key
KillUserProcesses=yes
