FWIW, I rarely use dolphin.  But, I just brought it up now.  Displaying ~.  I think just
did "touch x" and less than one second it appeared.  "rm x" and it was gone just as
quickly.

Even if I got to an NFS mounted directory the action is just as quick.

[egreshko@meimei ~]$ rpm -q dolphin
dolphin-19.12.1-1.fc31.x86_64
