For Okular, you may want to just limit the supported backends, and hence the 
dependencies, to a minimum. Kile (and most LaTeX users in general) will only 
really care about P(ost)S(cript) (libspectre), PDF (poppler-qt5), and DVI 
(builtin backend, no external library needed). These are also historically 
the 3 viewers that Okular replaced in the move from KDE 3 to KDE 4 
(KGhostView, KPDF, KDVI). Anything else is nice to have, but not essential.
