I have a similar issue with image files being always opened by Gimp
instead of Gwenview even if I specified that I want them to be opened
by Gwenview from Dolphin. When this happens, in Dolphin I do: open
with/other application/I search for Gwenview and tick remember
association.
I wonder if Gimp does not change the user's preferences when a new
version is installed.
