FWIW, I had a bit of a problem with the latest version of T-Bird. 

[egreshko@meimei ~]$ rpm -qa | grep thunderb
thunderbird-enigmail-2.0.8-1.fc28.noarch
thunderbird-60.0-1.fc28.x86_64

Some of my favorite add-ons are incompatible and I did have trouble with the
calendar.  I was having a "bad day" and ended up deleting my google calendars,
installing Provider for Google Calendar 4.4.1 and adding them back in.  They all work
now.
