Actually, besides being changeable in the settings, it's also one of many available command line start options:

 

qmmp --ui qsui

So it can be done in the app launcher.

Other choices can be viewed with qmmp --help

Or, another option is to create $home/.qmmp/qmmprc with the following contents, before first run:

[Ui]

current_plugin=qsui
