I agree. As a quick hack around a lack of categorized logging, particular applications could be patched to use QLoggingCategory::setFilterRules to disable debug logging for that package.

In general, I think libraries should have debugging messages off by default and applications should have debugging messages on, as Qt's defaults work. When I am using or developing a Qt application, I want to see what is going on with that application, but I do not want to be bombarded with messages from Qt or KDE libraries.
