Ok, thanks. I knew there was something weird here. I downgraded and everything's normal, but the upgrade widget tells me that 62 packages are now available! So, you're sure these are the new ones and not the ones I just got rid of? ;-)
I will do what you say, clean the cache... and wait until tonight before trying it. The sun's shining and the wind is howling, alas! :-( but the motorbike is calling.
