I wouldn't think you'd want sudo here. akonadi should run as you:

idependent of other problems and real bugs - users should just stop to
type "sudo" in front of everyting - if something don't need root power
just don't give it root power and anything in context of your desktop
NEVER EVER needs root power
basically the same mistake as people train their spamassassin as root
and wonder why the bayes don't work when the distribution was smart
enough not to start spamassassin as root
