Application developers have known (or should have known) for years now that classic xembed systray was deprecated and would be going away soon, and that they should support the newer status-notifier-based standards (or move away from systray icons altogether).

sorry, you can't blame application developers when KF5 still offers "start in systray" which means "ksystraycmd" is added to the .desktop file while ksystraycmd was not ported until now and so even pure KF5 applications can't be moved to the tray
