[root@testserver:~]$ kate /etc/fstab hangs there and dos nothing - why?and yes, it's practical as admin pull several similar config files on a headless admin server and edit them in a GUI editor to sync and compare changes followed by push back with a script to the machines
frankly, kate is the only reason for X11 libraries on our admin servers
