In the System Settings I have "Screen Locking" unchecked. But in my .bashrc I have the line xset +dpms dpms 240 240 240 And sure enough after 4 minutes the screens go blank. And when I move the mouse the screen returns. However, after the screens return I do an "xset q" and I find DPMS (Energy Star): Standby: 600 Suspend: 900 Off: 1200 DPMS is Enabled Monitor is On I can't figure out what is changing the settings.
