The line

gtk-font-name="Sans Serif 12"  existed.  I changed it to
Konsole output<br> <br> gtk-font-name="Sans Serif 12
gtk-font-name="Sans Serif 14"  as well as your suggestion and it had no apparent effect even after restarting.  The size of the fonts in the UI did not change.
