The Chrome browser does not yet support the Plasma 5 kwallet system. So, it is necessary to have both versions of wallet and it seems to work fine. The one oddity that I noticed is that if you "launch wallet manager" from "System Settings" the manager for the KDE4 wallet will not stat until you open the Plasma 5 wallet.
