I see. I usually consider firefox as a mostly-read-only app, so I never came across a usecase where I would want two web pages displayed simultaneously on the same screen. But I do understand this point in the case of konsole --- typing in one window while reading a man page in another is probably a sensible scenario. Btw, I also listen to streaming radio (not BBC though), but for me it is more convenient to open it in a tab. I guess it depends on how the web page of the player is made... ;-) Thanks to everyone for the info!
