 You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem

It works.

Some gotchas in the process:

1) I had to remove calibre because it depends on an older version of sip.

2) at some point virtuoso was eating too much memory (too much processes
working simultaneously ona single pdf). The it stopped and now
everything is working smoothly.

3) nothing else to report :-9
