Not sure what "load monitor" you are referring to.
It's called "system load viewer" in the widget list you get if you add
widgets to a panel.

I wasn't running that widget, but I was running GKrellm and it was one of the apps that would not paint after some time, until killed. Now I am not running it, and the problem persists.
Any ideas where I can look to troubleshoot? Anyone?
